The Aorta is the largest artery in the human body. It carries oxygen rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body.
A healthy aorta is essential for life. Conditions affecting the aorta can be serious and, in some cases, life-threatening if not detected and treated early.

A Thoracic Aortic Aneurysm (TAA) is a swelling or enlargement of the aorta, the body's main artery, within the chest.
The aorta carries oxygen-rich blood from the heart to the rest of the body. When a part of the aorta becomes weak, it can gradually stretch and enlarge, much like a weak spot on a garden hose.

An Aortic Dissection occurs when a tear develops in the inner wall of the aorta, the body's main artery.
Blood enters through this tear and travels between the layers of the aortic wall, causing them to separate. This can reduce blood flow to vital organs and may cause the aorta to rupture.

Aortic Root Disease affects the aortic root, the first part of the aorta where it connects to the heart and supports the aortic valve.
When the aortic root becomes enlarged, weakened, or damaged, it can affect both the aorta and the aortic valve, increasing the risk of serious complications.

Aortic Stenosis is a condition in which the aortic valve becomes narrowed and stiff, making it harder for blood to flow from the heart into the aorta and the rest of the body.
As the valve opening becomes smaller, the heart must work harder to pump blood through it

Bicuspid Aortic Valve is a condition where a person is born with two valve leaflets instead of three.
This can affect both the valve and the aorta, increasing the risk of valve disease and enlargement of the body's main artery.

Aortic Regurgitation occurs when the aortic valve leaks, allowing blood to flow backward into the heart instead of moving forward to the body.
As a result, the heart must work harder to pump enough blood to the body.
